kittens! :)

I was taking pictures for my digital photography class ( online) & snapped a few of the newest addition to the DINSMORE fam. Dinsmore, not Swanson. ha . Mom & Dad needed two new "mousers" so ta da! Here are Oli & Gurt.
Behind the names: Our other two cats our named Butter & Cream. Keeping with the dairy family we picked Oli ( for Olio Margarine) & Yogurt. Oli & Gurt stuck.  They are now about 12 weeks old finally, & I think we got them around 4. They were sickly due to being weened from the mommy WAY too early, and out of that whole litter these are the two that survived! ( so far!)

one more for the night!

Just a reminder to anyone who is interested! SECOND ANNUAL DINSMORE MEYER CHRISTMAS PARTY is coming near! DECEMBER 19th!!!!! Here is the invite! Anyone who wants to come COME and let us know!! :)

Emma Belle Crooks

I can't believe I haven't updated this in so long! Now so much really has happened! My amazing friends Brittney & Kyle Crooks created a beautiful baby girl who was born in August! It is such a blessing to have seen their love through out such a big part of it! And what a blessing they have brought into the world! They were gracious enough to let me be apart of sharing it with the world & I made her baby announcements for them! :) I could not have had a better project to work on! I can't wait to meet her, hopefully in the nearish future, after the holiday season! I know both Tyler and I miss their company so much!

Ashlyn's Birthday Invite! :)

Here is a cute little invite I did for my friend Mandy ( & Heather ) over in Monmouth! Her baby Ashlyn is already turning one! They are having a cute lady bug themed party and these invites were printed out at walmart on photo paper! Cheap & cute! Gotta love saving on those things!

neglect

I have neglected this poor poor blog! I was waiting until I had more updates because there wasn't anything too exciting happening here for quite a while so now we can keep this going! Tyler has a job!!! At Americold here in Ontario! Which we love because our steps to moving out of the parents are becoming smaller as the savings account is becoming bigger! :) I am still working at Brewsky's which I absolutely love! The people there crack me up, I get to work with friends and I get to see everyone around! Tyler is also still volunteer firefighting, which he loves, although the calls are pretty slim right now!
I'm sorry for anyone who does read this, even if you are some strange passerby! :) I have found a new blogging time! 6 on Tuesdays because Tyler has drill and Biggest Loser doesn't start till 7! So here is where I will be!

Welcome:

My friend Heather & her boyfriend Justin are coming into town tonight for a fun filled visit! They recently moved out on their own into a cute house in Monmouth, so of course I had to make them a housewarming present! I love making mosaics and have made a few of these welcome signs for friends! I love the unorganized welcome with cool colors! Hopefully they will like it & it will add a little hello to wherever they put it! The best for the side of the house is to do the house numbers, but since this house is a renter for Heather & Justin, I have to wait until they buy :)

Riggins, ID

( Above: Seven Devils- view from the 1st lookout tower)
My Dad got a cabin in Riggins, ID this past weekend to have a little escape from Ontario. The 3 of us ( Dad, Tyler & I) headed up Friday night for a night of relaxing in a house right next to the river! On Saturday we all got up early & set out on a hike around the Seven Devil's area! The hike was amazing & a reminder that I haven't been to the gym since I graduated- ( * mental note to go get a gym membership!) Such a great thing to do & only a few hours from Ontario!
The Seven Devils Lake was right below the mountains &  was the coolest color of blue/green! The trout were jumping like crazy, while we were wishing we had a fishing pole!
The Seven Devils from below- as you can see from the first picture we hiked quite a ways up to get a great view- & that was the short hike! The second hike we took for the day was 8 miles with a great variety of steep slopes, steeper slopes, & a few downhill trails to let us catch our breath!

On Sunday  Mom joined us & we headed down the Salmon River for Tyler's first rafting trip! The rafting was amazing & of course I was all smiles! Mom was a little terrified of getting wet, so this is the only picture you can see her head in because she was ducking behind me the whole time trying to stay dry! It started raining toward the end of the trip, which is so weird for this time of year, but we enjoyed the change of pace & weekend away!

To Baby Reece

Today was my day off of work and I have been waiting for the time to do something creative! My cousin Lauryn is expecting to have her little baby any day now and I thought I would make her a few things to send our love! She lives in Nevada & with the heat my thinking is that that baby will be boiling in a onesie AND  normal clothes- so I decorated a few onesies for Baby Reece to strut around in! Now hopefully she will come in the next few days & give her mom a little break in the belly! :)

Reece Reynolds is coming soon! YAY!

In the routine:

Now that Tyler and I are finally settled in we are getting into the groove of our routine! I usually work an unpredictable 3- 5 shifts at Brewsky's and Tyler irrigates daily. His new project around my parent's house is sanding the deck so that he can paint it!  He also has mandatory drill practices every Tuesday night with the rest of the Ontario Fire Department! He finally is allowed to start going through the training checklist and is on his way to that pager! The top picture is yesterday's drill ( 7/14/09) which was a controlled field burn! Needless to say, Tyler absolutely LOVES IT! :)
Above is what Tyler did for Tuesday's drill
           Tyler's daily, never ending job!

Finally an update! :)

Well we are planted, finally in Eastern Oregon. Settled and getting in a routine. We have not even been here 3 weeks but it seems like it is taking us forever to get unpacked and situated. Luckily the work is dwindling- only a few more trips to storage - hopefully!
The wedding was amazing and beautiful- I get the professional pictures back TOMORROW- so then I will get to show off how fun it was! For those of you who didn't see, the wedding was full country- with hay bales, a remodeled barn, and of course the bride, groom, maid of honor and groomsman had to do keg stands- don't worry the stories will come with the pictures!
As for jobs- Tyler got hired part time at Ontario Fire Department and will start there in the next week- he's still waiting on a full time job but the economy is so tight we aren't being picky- or in a rush!  I am working at Brewsky's, saving up money before I go back to school! I know I'm working in Ontario because our aprons are carhart toolbelts and we have to wear shirts advertising Brogan's Nutty Brunch ( which is a calf fry and cow pie toss competition!) Don't worry- the shirt even has a cow crossing his legs and holding his privates- only in Ontario :)
Tyler's birthday was this past Saturday, so Dad, Mom, Grammy, Dane, Tyson, Zuban, Tyler & I headed up to the Wallowa's for some fun! We had a blast shooting chipmunks, ground squirrels, riding the ranger and spotting 2 bull mule deer, a bear, a huge bull elk and about 70 elk grazing! The trip was also full of drinking starting at 12 and headaches the next day- the only way to spend a birthday!
The pictures were taken with Tyler's new dig. camera that he got for his birthday from me! He also got a leatherman from my parents! I think he's still smiling!

Last Week at CAL LU

Oh dear, this is my last week of Undergrad life- I am swamped- but only 4 1/2 more days left until freedom! :)
I'm almost done with my take home final for Religion, which sounds easy, but is 10 plus pages of horror about Bugandan and Hopi Indian Cultures and the relation to Myths, Cosmos and Society- LAME! The class has been so easy until now!
All morning I have been studying my heart out, writing papers, applying for jobs, booking reservations for the honeymoon and seeing no end in sight!  A few more weeks and my life will be a little bit easier, especially since it will include a beach, beer, and 10 days of vacation for the honeymoon!
On top of the finals and finishing my online class ( which is not that close to being done yet) I have started to pack all of my belongings up in boxes and bags! I will be moving out of Grace Hall ( picture above) on Saturday! What a process!
Other wonderful news- I got to enjoy an amazing night with my roommates and my old Roomie this past Friday night! Brittney and her husband came and visited us at Cal Lu ( their old stomping grounds) for the first time since Britt graduated last year! They recently moved from Seattle to Carpenteria and are expecting their first little baby! And it's a girl! It was so great to see her and Kyle- and they are coming back this weekend to camp out on the couch and watch graduation! I will update you more soon!!!!

SURPRISE BRIDAL SHOWER!

SO Here's the story-
Last Thursday, 4/30/09, there was a senior banquet which I signed up for with my two friends Cat and Kayla- prior to the banquet we had planned on going to Happy Hour- which is a weekly tradition. Cat took so long getting ready that Kayla and I left without her, due to my pushing that we were going to be late. We sit at the banquet and Kayla wants to leave early to go to Happy Hour ( Kayla isn't much of a pushy person so this was a little off) but I wanted to stay. We finally leave the banquet, go pick up Cat and head to my fav. Mexican restaurant Cisco's. ( which doesn't have a cheap happy hour OR pomegranate margaritas so I was a little off kilter as to why we were going there.) As we pull up to Cisco's, Kayla makes me put on a tin foil badge that says "bachelorette." At this point I am just perplexed. As we walk in Kayla, doesn't wait for the waitress but barges into the restaurant where I then see 3 heads pop out of the booth!  My 2 other roomies Lena & Cori are there along with Tyler's cousin Rachael!
I am sooo excited that I have friends! We order drinks and food and carry on while more people join us! Then as I order my second drink I see Rachael wave to someone. Not thinking much since Kay just left for the bathroom, I turn around and see Maggie- Maggie was my roommate last year and this year, but graduated at semester- and I haven't seen her since. THEN the tears came!
After a crazy time catching up, we all proceed to my room where I am told that we aren't done and tonight there is a theme. The Lingerie came out of the wood works- and had to be the most hilarious experience ever!
To say the least I felt so loved and special! I was so excited that my friends had taken the time out of their schedules to make me feel so amazing and Kayla was the mad schemer behind it all!  I feel so blessed to have had such an amazing night sprung on me. ( And if my German professor asks why I may not have done so great on my German test that was the day after this shower, I will gladly show him these pictures!)

4.28.09c

So, after realizing that in a little over a month Tyler and I will be getting married, going to Hawaii and then moving to Oregon I knew I needed to fix up this blog so that the people we love can stay updated on on our life! I know too many of my friends who got married at lost touch, and since Tyler has so much family in California, I am making it a point to update this as much as I can.. Starting today :)
The wedding is May 30th, 2009 ( and coming up so FAST!) the picture above is one of our centerpieces! I personally am so over wedding stuff, I'm just ready to have it here! I graduate on the 16th of May, and Tyler graduates from the Fire Academy on May 23rd... so pray for us and our busy month ahead!
Anyways, I will work on updating this with pictures, and trying to find people who want to follow us! :) We want to stay in touch with everyone!

Our Wedding Invites:

Here is the front of our Wedding Invitations! They will be getting sent out next week.. woo hoo! We are both so excited to almost have this part out of the way, now we will just have to finalize plans rather than plan them!  I can't wait until this day comes! We are both so ready to start out lives together.  Hopefully I will get better at updating this blog, so that our family/friends and roommates can all keep in touch with us, or be updated on what we are doing. The big move to Oregon is coming up in 3 months, right after the Wedding and my fear is that we will loose communication with the people we love down in California! Hopefully this will help people be more involved in our lives!
