neglect
I have neglected this poor poor blog! I was waiting until I had more updates because there wasn't anything too exciting happening here for quite a while so now we can keep this going! Tyler has a job!!! At Americold here in Ontario! Which we love because our steps to moving out of the parents are becoming smaller as the savings account is becoming bigger! :) I am still working at Brewsky's which I absolutely love! The people there crack me up, I get to work with friends and I get to see everyone around! Tyler is also still volunteer firefighting, which he loves, although the calls are pretty slim right now!

Riggins, ID
My Dad got a cabin in Riggins, ID this past weekend to have a little escape from Ontario. The 3 of us ( Dad, Tyler & I) headed up Friday night for a night of relaxing in a house right next to the river! On Saturday we all got up early & set out on a hike around the Seven Devil's area! The hike was amazing & a reminder that I haven't been to the gym since I graduated- ( * mental note to go get a gym membership!) Such a great thing to do & only a few hours from Ontario!
The Seven Devils Lake was right below the mountains & was the coolest color of blue/green! The trout were jumping like crazy, while we were wishing we had a fishing pole!
The Seven Devils from below- as you can see from the first picture we hiked quite a ways up to get a great view- & that was the short hike! The second hike we took for the day was 8 miles with a great variety of steep slopes, steeper slopes, & a few downhill trails to let us catch our breath!

On Sunday Mom joined us & we headed down the Salmon River for Tyler's first rafting trip! The rafting was amazing & of course I was all smiles! Mom was a little terrified of getting wet, so this is the only picture you can see her head in because she was ducking behind me the whole time trying to stay dry! It started raining toward the end of the trip, which is so weird for this time of year, but we enjoyed the change of pace & weekend away!

To Baby Reece
Today was my day off of work and I have been waiting for the time to do something creative! My cousin Lauryn is expecting to have her little baby any day now and I thought I would make her a few things to send our love! She lives in Nevada & with the heat my thinking is that that baby will be boiling in a onesie AND normal clothes- so I decorated a few onesies for Baby Reece to strut around in! Now hopefully she will come in the next few days & give her mom a little break in the belly! :)
In the routine:
Now that Tyler and I are finally settled in we are getting into the groove of our routine! I usually work an unpredictable 3- 5 shifts at Brewsky's and Tyler irrigates daily. His new project around my parent's house is sanding the deck so that he can paint it! He also has mandatory drill practices every Tuesday night with the rest of the Ontario Fire Department! He finally is allowed to start going through the training checklist and is on his way to that pager! The top picture is yesterday's drill ( 7/14/09) which was a controlled field burn! Needless to say, Tyler absolutely LOVES IT! :)

Finally an update! :)
Well we are planted, finally in Eastern Oregon. Settled and getting in a routine. We have not even been here 3 weeks but it seems like it is taking us forever to get unpacked and situated. Luckily the work is dwindling- only a few more trips to storage - hopefully!
The wedding was amazing and beautiful- I get the professional pictures back TOMORROW- so then I will get to show off how fun it was! For those of you who didn't see, the wedding was full country- with hay bales, a remodeled barn, and of course the bride, groom, maid of honor and groomsman had to do keg stands- don't worry the stories will come with the pictures!
As for jobs- Tyler got hired part time at Ontario Fire Department and will start there in the next week- he's still waiting on a full time job but the economy is so tight we aren't being picky- or in a rush! I am working at Brewsky's, saving up money before I go back to school! I know I'm working in Ontario because our aprons are carhart toolbelts and we have to wear shirts advertising Brogan's Nutty Brunch ( which is a calf fry and cow pie toss competition!) Don't worry- the shirt even has a cow crossing his legs and holding his privates- only in Ontario :)
Tyler's birthday was this past Saturday, so Dad, Mom, Grammy, Dane, Tyson, Zuban, Tyler & I headed up to the Wallowa's for some fun! We had a blast shooting chipmunks, ground squirrels, riding the ranger and spotting 2 bull mule deer, a bear, a huge bull elk and about 70 elk grazing! The trip was also full of drinking starting at 12 and headaches the next day- the only way to spend a birthday!
The pictures were taken with Tyler's new dig. camera that he got for his birthday from me! He also got a leatherman from my parents! I think he's still smiling!
